Job Summary: The online football editor will be key owner and producer of football articles on ExtraFootie.co.uk, a start up website targeted to football supporters in the UK, launching in April 2009
The online football editor must be able to demonstrate a strong passion for football and significant knowledge of the UK market.
Initially this role is a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension, based on results.
Working location is flexible (eg initially working from home), our HQ is in Belgium and we are looking to expand in the UK.

Your key role is to:
1. Write short news on UK football
2. Review and edit articles submitted by the football community
3. Moderate comments from visitors where necessary

Duties and Responsibilities
• Check the most important news of the day using specialized tools.
• Analyse and select articles to go on the front and inside pages
• Write / Edit articles in a fun, sometimes tongue-in-cheek way
• Select relevant photos where necessary
• Create an editorial style for the website
• Work with other editors in UK or Europe to share know-how and information using Skype, Yahoo Messenger etc.
• Recommend website improvements to the Product team
• Ensure the website is continuously updated 7 days a week

Skills and Requirements
• English as native language

• Proactive and really fast (eg ability to write a breaking news (short article) in 10 minutes)
