Category Development Manager – Perm/Interim
North of London
Taking the category management strategy forward within the demanding multiple grocery sector is the challenge of this role with a well-known FMCG business. Working closely with the accounts and consumer marketing team, you’ll shape and lead the category agenda, using consumer and customer insights to shape the strategy – defining ranging, promotional strategy, display and merchandising initiatives and NPD planning for brand and own-label. Perm and Interim considered.
Our Ideal Candidate
Classic catman skills ideally including hands-on customer marketing or commercial experience, are key for this challenging role in what is a very fast-paced environment where expectations are high. You’ll ideally be familiar with an 8 step cat man process and with continuous market and consumer panel data. Strong networking, influencing and communication skills are of course essential – this is a role in which you can carve your own agenda – developing solutions and initiatives that drive category and brand performance upwards.
Company Profile
Our client is a major food business with a large share of the branded and own-label business in its sector, including a number of high profile and much-loved names. The business has set itself aggressive growth targets and has been successful in growing its core business as well as introducing new added-value branded propositions. The culture is entrepreneurial and go-getting with a clear focus on achieving results and making things happen. Not a place for the faint hearted but definitely a place where you can achieve demonstrable results and truly drive the business forward.
Tarsh Lazare is committed to finding the right roles for talented candidates. We are a leading name in marketing recruitment with extensive marketing and recruitment experience working with brand management, communications, category management, customer marketing, brand consulting and insight/research specialists across a wide range of industry sectors.
