Fascinating and perhaps uniquely challenging role for a market research and marketing specialist who can bring their skills to this fast growing food ingredients business based north of London. In a business which supplies ingredients to the FMCG and foodservice sector, your challenge is to establish a market research function – sourcing consumer, industry, trend and competitor information, and advising the commercial and R&D teams on strategic, tactical and longer term NPD and innovation issues and strategies. You will also create marketing collateral and materials to support the commercial function, working with the team to strengthen existing customer relationships and drive new business partnerships.
Our Ideal Candidate
By definition this role needs a hybrid research/marketing specialist to meet the brief. A robust understanding of qual and quant approaches is key, ideally including both B2B and B2C experience. You’ll also have experience of looking for industry and consumer trends and identifying potential business opportunities. Strong analytical skills are of course key, but this is a role for practical, hands-on operator who can use data to make clear business recommendations and then work with the management team to drive the business. The company is not seeking a pure marketing guru but experience of setting marketing objectives and developing business plans and marketing/promotional materials is also important. Needless to say, an interest in food would be valuable!
