full time User Experience Architect

Proficiently deploys a user centered design approach & techniques to projects. Works collaboratively with design, development and merchandising to deliver improvements.
Candidate Requirements

Be a Guardian of the customer experience

Drives forward the customer experience. Is a point of contact for discussion and a stakeholder representing the customer. Ensures all decisions maximize the website customer experience. Supports and guides merchandising & content teams.

Business requirements/Stakeholder buy-in

Runs stakeholder workshops to understand requirements & objectives for the website. Secure buy-in to design concepts.

Concept development

Works within team to develop compelling solutions that satisfy business strategies & objectives and customer need. Flags issues and avenues to explore to maximize usability, business benefit. Ensures concepts are feasible & competitive.

Usability research and analysis

Is an enthusiastic and persuasive advocate for UCD & user research. Reviews website and prototypes against objectives. Capture and analyze user intelligence to support decisions. (Heuristic analysis, usability testing, card sorting, surveys). Deliver insight & recommendations in a persuasive and interesting manner. Guide design with user personas, scenarios, user journeys.

Information Architecture

Devise a first rate website architecture. Optimize site for SEO, usability, accessibility and sales. Document using sitemaps, wireframes, process flows, use cases, interactive prototypes etc. Define and document functionality changes for development.

Interaction design

Develop a strong vision for the websites interaction. Ensure it is in keeping with usability standards and best practice, and has appropriate use of technologies such as Ajax, Flash etc. Communicate vision with user journeys & prototypes. Brief and collaborate with designers and developers. Regularly review output and ensure the site is built to vision. Provide technical advice, guidance and mentoring to developers. Stay current with latest technical developments in interface design and technology.


Compensation: £30,000 - £45,000 / year
